2000 – 2001

Founding of Tchaikapharma High Quality Medicines

Target achievements and growing market demand for affordable high-quality generics inspires Commercial League’s shareholders to found and invest in a manufacturing company. 2000 is the start-up year for a new Bulgarian manufacturer of generic and in-licensed products. In the following year Tchaikapharma High Quality Medicines Inc (www.tchaikapharma.com) commences production of high quality and affordable medicines.

Further growth secured for international partners

Commercial League executes a Bonded Consignment Stock Agreement with Eli Lilly, thus strengthening the successful partnership between the two companies. With this Agreement the number of consignment warehouses operated by the National Pharma Center rises to 45.

Following a Marketing & Distribution Agreements signed in 2000, Commercial League builds and develops a market for Abbott Laboratories in Bulgaria, which grows from zero in 1998 to $2 million in 2001 and took over the marketing and promotion of Sanofi’s Fraxiparine and Plavix.

Expanding the corporate branch structure

The continuous growth of the scope of activities requires establishment of new branch structures in the cities of Kyustendil, Haskovo, Pernik, Shumen, Targovishte, Lovech, Dobrich, Sliven and Vidin. New warehouses are opened in Yambol, Pazardzhik, Silistra, and Montana. This is the final stage of expansion for our branch structure – 100% territorial coverage within 2 hours from the point of order.
